Lucy gained her BSc in biological science from the University of Edinburgh. She spent a year working at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory in Heidelberg, Germany. Subsequently she completed a PhD in Molecular Genetics at the University of Cambridge and continued to work in the field of genetics and molecular biology as postdoctoral medical researcher in the Babraham Institute. Lucy went on to spend 6 years working in medical communications, firstly as a medical writer at the Thomson Gardiner-Caldwell Group and, more recently as editorial project leader for Anthemis Consulting.
During her career, Lucy has developed expertise in a number of areas, including urology, neuropsychopharmacology, respiratory disease, haematology, arthritis, pain management and endocrinology. Her strengths lie in the development and delivery of strategic publication plans, effective medical writing, meeting organisation and the production of impactful promotional material. Lucy has effective and highly regarded communication skills at all levels and is able to grasp new work and concepts quickly to produce effective and high quality products. Her work is process driven with excellent attention to detail, structure and scientific accuracy.
