Neil began his scientific career as a Medical Laboratory Scientific Officer in the Department of Pathology at the University of Sheffield. He went on to obtain a first class BSc (Hons) degree in biochemistry, from the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne. In 1996, Neil was awarded a PhD by the University of Manchester for research in reproductive biochemistry. Neil continued his research into steroidal control of endometrial mucin gene expression for 18 months as a post-doctoral research fellow before joining a large medical communications agency as a Medical Writer in 1997. Neil has almost 12 years experience working in medical communications, the last 4 years in the role of Editorial Director. Neil has acquired extensive editorial experience in a variety of therapeutic areas including oncology, cardiovascular medicine, neurology, urology and respiratory medicine. He has produced and overseen the delivery of the full spectrum of medical communications. His responsibilities within Bioscript Stirling include overseeing the quality, accuracy and timely delivery of editorial outputs. Neil provides consultancy for clients on all aspects of publication planning and delivery and is actively involved in the development of strategic communication and publication plans.
